Books Aloud

Life is busy nowadays. Parents with the best intentions sometimes just don’t have the time to read with their kids. Some lack confidence, and some are still learning to read themselves. Books aloud addresses this need. Books aloud is a hub where kids and parents can come to hear stories read to them by a wide range of narrators, from confident kids to adult heroes.

Listen carefully and watch along as the narrator reads the story in live-time. Notice what the narrator does and think about what you could try out next time you read a story. How fast do they read? When do they take a breath? Can you spot any use of expression? What makes them interesting to listen to? Borrowing tips and tricks from expert readers helps to develop skills and build confidence, as well as to foster a genuine love of the joy and wonder books have to offer.

We hope that these videos will encourage you to take the time to share a story, however that looks in your home!
